Symptoms of dengue fever?

The incubation period is 5-8 days. The prodromas include rhinitis, conjunctivitis, sudden high fever, chills, headache, retroorbital pain, myositis, severe headache, myalgia, arthralgia, nausea, vomiting, fatigue and anorexia. The first fever can reach 39-40 ℃.

It continued to decline for 4-5 days, and the symptoms were relieved for about 1-3 days. High fever (bimodal fever) appeared again. On 3-5 days after the onset of the disease, most patients first developed measles like erythema on both sides of the trunk, and gradually developed to the limbs. Most of them developed scarlet fever like rash on the flexed side of the forearm, and expanded to the face and limbs. In some cases, purpura like macular papules can be seen in the hands, feet, palms, soles, ankles and calves, accompanied by pruritus, and desquamation after resolution. Most of the patients had superficial lymphadenopathy.

Dengue virus can cause hemorrhagic fever in Asian children. Small bleeding spots and ecchymosis of skin and mucous membrane were found. Severe cases included epistaxis, gastrointestinal, respiratory tract and intracranial hemorrhage. Leukopenia, neutropenia and thrombocytopenia, can be recovered after fever, prothrombin prolonged. Some patients had proteinuria and elevated serum transaminase. The virus can be isolated from suckling mouse brain, monkey kidney, Aedes albopictus and Aedes albopictus cell lines.

matters needing attention

In order to control the source of infection, we should do a good job in monitoring and forecasting the epidemic situation of dengue fever in local epidemic areas or possible epidemic areas, early detection, early diagnosis, timely isolation and treatment of patients. At the same time, specific laboratory examination should be carried out as soon as possible for suspicious cases to identify mild patients. Strengthen frontier health and quarantine.
