summary

Mastitis, as the name suggests, is the inflammation of the female breast, and this disease is more common in lactating women, especially the women who have just given birth. Because they have no experience in breast-feeding, and the newborn has no power to suck breast milk, it is easy to cause milk stasis and lead to mastitis, but mastitis is generally divided into three stages, and the treatment is also different. Let's have a look.

There are three different stages in the treatment of mastitis

1. Early stage: the beginning often has the nipple to rupture, when lactation feels the nipple to sting, accompanies with the milk siltation not to be smooth or the caking, sometimes may have one or two mammary ducts to obstruct. Then the breast local swelling pain, caking or with or without, accompanied by tenderness, skin color is not red or slightly red, skin is not hot or slightly hot. General symptoms are not obvious, or accompanied by fever, chest tightness, headache, irritability, easy to lose temper, loss of appetite.

2. Purulent stage: the breast mass does not disappear or gradually increases, local pain aggravates, or pulsatile pain, very persistent severe pain, accompanied by obvious tenderness, red skin, hot skin, and strong heat does not subside, thirsty, nausea and anorexia, ipsilateral axillary lymph node swelling and tenderness. On the 10th day or so, the center of the breast mass becomes soft gradually. According to it, there should be wave motion, local swelling, fever and obvious tenderness. There is pus in puncture and aspiration. Sometimes the pus can flow out of the mammary orifice, which aggravates the systemic symptoms.

3. After ulceration stage: when the acute abscess matures, it can break out the pus by itself, or the pus can be discharged by surgical incision. If the pus is unobstructed, the local swelling and pain will be reduced, the fever and fear of cold symptoms will disappear, and the sore will gradually heal. If the abscess is not smooth after ulceration, the swelling does not disappear, the pain does not decrease, and the body heat does not subside, the bag pus may be formed, or the pus may spread to other mammary collaterals, and the cyst and carbuncle may be formed. There are also ulcers after the milk spilled from the sore, long treatment, the formation of milk leakage.
