summary

Women over the age of 18 have no menstruation, or have normal menstruation but have stopped menstruation for more than 3 months are called amenorrhea, the former is called primary amenorrhea, the latter is called secondary amenorrhea. Some girls menarche from the second menstrual interval a few months, or two years menstruation are irregular, two menstrual interval time is relatively long, can not be considered amenorrhea. This is because their reproductive organs have not yet matured, ovarian function is not perfect.

Three factors lead to amenorrhea

First, disease. Consumptive diseases, such as severe pulmonary tuberculosis, severe anemia, malnutrition, etc.; specific endocrine diseases, such as obesity, reproductive incompetence, malnutrition, etc.; the influence of some endocrine glands in the body, such as adrenal gland, thyroid gland, pancreas and other functional disorders. Due to the influence of these factors, menstruation is often absent. All of these cases caused by amenorrhea, as long as the disease is cured, menstruation will naturally come.

Second, atresia of the lower genital tract. Such as the cervix, vagina, hymen, labia and other places, there is a congenital atresia, or acquired damage caused by adhesion atresia, although menstruation, but blood can not flow, this situation is called recessive or pseudo amenorrhea. The atresia of the lower genital tract can be completely cured by the treatment of doctors.

Third, the reproductive organs are not sound or underdeveloped. Some people have congenital absence of ovary, or ovarian dysplasia, or ovarian damage, can not produce estrogen and progesterone, so the endometrium can not have periodic changes, there will be no endometrial shedding, so there will be no menstruation. Some congenital absence of uterus, or endometrial dysplasia, or endometrial damage, even if the ovarian function is sound, estrogen and progesterone secretion is normal, will not menstruation.

matters needing attention

If found amenorrhea, should go to the hospital to find out the cause of disease, symptomatic treatment. If we do not pay close attention to the treatment, the longer the amenorrhea time, the more severe the uterine atrophy will be, and the worse the treatment effect will be.
