How is cystic papilloma treated?
Differential diagnosis of papilloma and papillary carcinoma: Although the difference between the two is only one word, the prognosis and treatment methods are very different. Because both of them have painless and spontaneous nipple discharge, and the characteristics of discharge are similar; The masses can be palpated in the breast, because the clinical symptoms of the two are similar, so it is difficult to distinguish them.
Although both of them have masses, most of the masses of intraductal papilloma are located in the areola area. The masses are small, often within 1cm, soft in texture, and axillary lymph nodes are not enlarged; Papillary carcinoma is mostly located outside the areola area, the mass can be large or small, generally irregular, the surface is not smooth, the boundary is not clear, the texture is hard, can adhere to the skin, the ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes can be enlarged.
The cytological examination of discharge smear showed that the epithelial cells of breast were arranged in papillary shape, and there were no cancer cells; The discharge smear of papillary carcinoma may find cancer cells. Mammography showed that the wall of the duct was smooth, the tumor could be round or the cross section of the duct was arc-shaped filling defect; Papillary carcinoma showed that the duct was stiff, the wall of the duct was not smooth, the duct could be suddenly interrupted, and the broken end showed irregular dentate changes.
