Are there many patients with preexcitation syndrome
summary
Recently, I suddenly heard that a colleague in our unit suffered from pre excitation syndrome. I feel very strange to this disease. I've never heard of it before. Recently, I checked some relevant information. Let's share the relevant knowledge with you.
Are there many patients with preexcitation syndrome
First, preexcitation is an abnormal phenomenon of atrioventricular conduction. Impulses are transmitted down through additional channels to excite part or all of the ventricles in advance, causing part of the ventricular muscles to excite in advance. Patients with preexcitation phenomenon are called preexcitation syndrome (preexcitation syndrome) or WPW (wolf Parkinson white) syndrome, and often complicated with supraventricular paroxysmal tachycardia. Preexcitation is a rare arrhythmia, the diagnosis mainly depends on ECG.
Second, simple pre excitation has no symptoms. Supraventricular tachycardia is similar to general supraventricular tachycardia. In patients with atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation, the ventricular rate is about 200 beats / min. in addition to palpitations and other discomfort, shock, heart failure and even sudden death may occur. When the ventricular rate is very fast, such as 300 beats / min, auscultation heart sound can be only half of the ventricular rate on ECG, suggesting that half of ventricular activation can not produce effective mechanical contraction.
Third, most patients have no organic heart disease. It is also found in some congenital and acquired heart diseases, such as tricuspid valve depression, obstructive cardiomyopathy, etc. Electrophysiological studies have proved that the conduction velocity of the bypass is fast, and the atrial impulse part passes down quickly through the bypass, reaches the ventricular end of the bypass ahead of time, excites the adjacent myocardium, thus causing ventricular early activation and changing the normal excitation sequence of ventricular muscle. The result is the abnormal QRS complex on the electrocardiogram, and there is a preshock wave in the initial part.
matters needing attention
The patients with preexcitation syndrome only need to be quiet and not do excessive exercise. In terms of diet, we can't eat too much meat and food with too much salt. If the heart beats too fast, we need to go to the hospital for treatment.
