Cauliflower disease, also known as condyloma acuminatum, genital warts or venereal warts, is a sexually transmitted disease caused by human papillomavirus. The clinical diagnosis of condyloma acuminatum can be made for the typical verrucous or cauliflower like tumor around vulva and anus. For the damage of early and subclinical infection, acetic acid white test is positive, and colposcopy (female) or urethroscopy (male) should be performed at the same time. The diagnosis of condyloma acuminatum requires histopathological examination. If the diagnosis is still difficult, the specific HPV antigen in tissue samples can be detected by histochemical method; or the HPV nucleic acid in tissue samples can be detected by in situ hybridization and PCR technology.
