Dietary requirements of gout
1. Alcohol and seafood are high risk factors of gout respectively, which add up to the problem. Eating separately is also bad for gout. Because gout is the result of the disorder of purine metabolism in the body, the increase of blood uric acid level caused by excessive uric acid production or reduced excretion, and the deposition of uric acid crystal salt in the body. Alcohol can promote the production of endogenous uric acid, and seafood belongs to high purine diet. Therefore, for patients with gout, it is better to treat these two kinds of food cautiously. For non gout patients, eating these foods will increase the risk of illness, but it will not lead to gout once.
2. Protein and fat. It is suitable to supply 40-65g protein per day. Milk and eggs are suitable because they have no cell structure, no nucleoprotein and less purine. It is not suitable to choose meat, fish and poultry. Fat can reduce the normal excretion of uric acid, during this period should choose a light diet.
3. Vitamin and mineral supply adequate B vitamins and vitamin C. Supply more vegetables, fruits and other alkaline food. Daily supply of vegetables 1000g, fruit 4-5; in alkaline environment can improve the solubility of urate, conducive to the excretion of uric acid. Moreover, vitamin C in fruits and vegetables can promote the dissolution of urate in tissues.
