What is extramammary Paget's disease?
summary
Extramammary Paget's disease is also called extramammary eczema like carcinoma. Similar dyskeratosis cells were observed in extramammary Paget's disease. Extramammary Paget's disease is a common skin malignant tumor. Histopathological examination is often required for the diagnosis. It is generally believed that Paget's disease has no dyskeratosis in histopathology, which is one of the basis for differentiating Paget's disease from Bowen's disease. What is extramammary Paget's disease? Let's talk about it
What is extramammary Paget's disease?
The disease mostly occurs in men, rarely in women. It often occurs in patients over 50 years old, with a slow course of disease and a period of half a year to more than ten years. Most of the lesions occurred in the distribution of apocrine sweat glands, such as scrotum, penis, labia and vagina, and a few in perianal, perineal or axillary areas. Most of them are single, a few are multiple, and it is rare to occur in two parts at the same time. Very few patients can be associated with breast Paget disease.
Extramammary Paget's disease can be secondary to the expansion of adenocarcinoma, such as from rectum to perianal area, from cervix to vulva area, from bladder to urethra, glans or groin area. On the other hand, extramammary Paget's disease can invade the cervix or urinary tract. The lesions, like Paget's disease of the breast, are well-defined red patches of varying sizes,
Narrow margin, slightly raised, light brown, central flush, erosion or exudation, covered with scales or scabs, sometimes verrucous, nodular and papilloma, conscious of varying degrees of itching, a few have pain.
matters needing attention
Surgical resection should be the first choice, and Mohs surgical technique can be used. If the damage is large, involving the groin and perianal, skin grafting is necessary. Secondary extramammary Paget's disease should be treated accordingly. Recurrent cases can be resected again.
