Effect of UVB on psoriasis patients
summary
I don't know what the reason is. I recently found that I had psoriasis. Sometimes I feel itchy. If I make trouble, it will spread. Now I understand. I went to the hospital to try UVB therapy, and my symptoms are getting better. Let me share the UVB effect of psoriasis patients.
Effect of UVB on psoriasis patients
First of all: b-band ultraviolet (UVB) phototherapy is to expose the skin to special wavelengths of ultraviolet to treat psoriasis. UVB exists in the natural sunlight, it is the most biologically active band of ultraviolet radiation, and has the possibility of sunburn. UVB can be used to treat psoriasis.
Secondly: when the treatment of external use is invalid, we can consider using UVB. It can be used alone or in combination with topical therapy (corticosteroids, anthracene, coal tar) or systemic drugs (oral retinoids or methotrexate). UVB is the standard treatment for moderate to severe psoriasis. Moderate to severe psoriasis can affect from 2% to 100% of the skin of any part of the body (the palm is about 1% of the whole body surface area).
Finally: UVB takes a lot of time. Only patients follow the appointment and guidance, they can get the best results. Like all therapies, UVB requires time and effort.
matters needing attention
If used correctly, UVB is usually very effective, most patients can clear the skin lesions and get obvious improvement. In one study, more than 90% of patients had their lesions completely removed. However, the key to achieving the maximum efficacy is patient compliance: only by attending all appointments on time (usually at least three times a week) and following the treatment instructions can the best efficacy be achieved.
