What is labial herpes

First, labial herpes is an acute herpetic skin disease caused by herpes simplex virus. Human is the only natural host of herpes simplex virus. The virus exists in blister fluid, saliva and feces of patients, convalescents or healthy carriers. The transmission mode is mainly direct contact infection, and can also be indirectly transmitted through tableware contaminated by saliva.

Second, the disease is caused by herpes simplex virus of DNA virus. Human herpes simplex virus can be divided into two types, namely herpes simplex virus type I (HSV-I) and herpes simplex virus type II (HSV-II). Type I mainly causes skin mucosa (oral mucosa) and organ (brain) infection outside genitalia. Type II mainly causes genital skin and mucous membrane infection.

Third, the virus enters the body through the respiratory tract, oral cavity, genital mucosa and damaged skin, and then sneaks in the normal mucosa, blood, saliva and sensory ganglion cells. When the body resistance decreases, such as fever, gastrointestinal dysfunction, menstruation, fatigue and so on, the latent HSV in the body is activated and the disease occurs.

matters needing attention

Usually, we should pay attention not to use towel or razor together with patients suffering from labial herpes. Patients with labial herpes need to take certain antiviral drugs for treatment. Acyclovir ointment is commonly used. If this happens every year, it is recommended to use 2% methyl violet solution, neomycin ointment and other drugs. It is best to eat light food instead of hot food.
