How to treat cataract
summary
Now more and more cataract patients, especially some elderly people have a higher risk of cataract. Cataract is a serious eye disease, and if not treated in time, it may lead to blindness. So many cataract patients are very worried about the deterioration of their condition, the following will introduce some good prescriptions for cataract treatment.
How to treat cataract
First: drug therapy: drug therapy for cataract has no definite effect. At present, it is in the stage of exploration and research at home and abroad. After medication, the condition of some early cataracts may slow down and their vision may be slightly improved, but this is not necessarily a drug As a result, the early development of cataract to maturity is a relatively long process, which may naturally stop at a certain stage of development without seriously affecting vision. In some patients with mid-term cataract, visual acuity and lens opacification did not improve.
Second: surgical treatment. Phacoemulsification is a new type of cataract surgery at home and abroad in recent years. At present, the operation is mainly carried out in the more advanced large and medium-sized cities in China. The nucleus of lens was smashed into chylous shape by ultrasound, and then aspirated together with the cortex. After the operation, the posterior capsule of lens was preserved, and the chamber intraocular lens could be implanted at the same time. It is suitable for phacoemulsification when the vision of senile cataract is less than 0.3, the lens opacity is immature and the central nucleus is soft. It has the advantages of small incision, less tissue damage, short operation time and quick recovery of vision.
Third: extracapsular cataract extraction: different from the old extracapsular cataract extraction, it needs to be operated under the operating microscope. The incision is smaller than that of intracapsular cataract extraction. The turbid nucleus of lens is expelled and the cortex is sucked out, but the posterior capsule of lens is left. The posterior capsule was preserved and the posterior chamber intraocular lens could be implanted at the same time. Therefore, extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) has become a routine method of cataract surgery.
matters needing attention
For the treatment of cataract, according to the severity of the disease to choose different treatment methods, for the initial stage of cataract patients generally through drug treatment, and for those more serious cataract patients need to be treated through surgery, because only through hand surgery can make patients recover earlier, will not leave the root of the disease.
