Traction should be carried out during the contraction, and the force should be gradually strengthened with the contraction, and then gradually weakened. During the intermission of contraction, the forceps should be released to reduce the pressure on the baby's head, and the fetal heart sounds should be heard. The direction of traction changes with the descent of the baby's head. At the beginning, the tong handle should be parallel to the ground (if the head position is higher, it should be pulled down slightly), and the hands should be forced in the direction shown. When the occipital part appears below the pubic arch and the perineum is obviously inflated, one hand can be used to lift it up slowly to help the child to be delivered with the head extended upward.
