What are the causes of vitiligo

1、 Sunlight and ultraviolet. The results showed that the number of melanocytes per unit area increased, the melanosomes formed vigorously and moved faster, at the same time, the sulfhydryl group in the skin was inhibited, and the tyrosinase activity was enhanced. However, excessive sunlight exposure can lead to hyperfunction of melanocytes and premature aging phenomenon, even damage or death; sunlight exposure can cause epidermal damage, poor contact between melanocytes and keratinocytes, resulting in excretion disorder and secondary decline of melanocyte function; damaged keratinocytes release a variety of inflammatory factors and inhibit the synthesis of melanin; Denatured or dead melanocytes can be used as antigens to induce antigen antibody reactions, leading to vitiligo.

2、 Trauma. Trauma includes burn, frostbite, trauma, surgery and so on. These factors can cause stress changes, melanocyte damage, induce immune dysfunction, and then lead to sporadic and generalized vitiligo.

3、 Mechanical stimulation. Excessive friction, compression, scratching and other mechanical stimulation are common factors to induce vitiligo, such as white spots on both sides of the bridge of nose and ears of people with glasses; white spots on the damaged skin after frequent forced rubbing bath; white spots around the breast, groin and waist of women with tight underwear; local white spots induced by mosquito bites or repeated scratching of skin pruritus, etc. These are related to the damage of local melanocytes, which leads to immune dysfunction, or neurochemical factors.
