What is proteinuria

summary

Proteinuria mainly refers to the content of protein in urine, which can be the manifestation of kidney disease, but it has no inevitable relationship with the severity of the disease. Let's see what proteinuria is.

What is proteinuria

First of all: due to the filtration of glomerular filtration membrane and reabsorption of renal tubules, the content of protein in urine of healthy people is very small (the daily excretion is less than 150 mg), and the qualitative examination of protein is negative.

Next: when the protein content in urine increases, common urine routine examination can be detected, called proteinuria. If the urine protein content is more than or equal to 3.5g/24h, it is called massive proteinuria.

Finally: proteinuria is a typical symptom of nephropathy, but the amount of urinary protein leakage can not reflect the severity of nephropathy. In patients with mild chronic kidney disease, less urinary protein leakage does not necessarily indicate mild renal pathological damage; large amount of proteinuria does not indicate severe renal pathological damage.

matters needing attention

We should adopt different standard protein diet according to the type of nephropathy and the different condition. Patients usually should eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, for the body to add enough calcium food.
